For the second year in a row, the morning after Christmas (at 3am!) we packed up the kids and headed to join our friends on Eleuthera. A big group of us stay at Yellow Bird Double Bay - the Atlantic stretches out in every direction, and the second we landed was like a big exhale. We tried to keep away from schedules, letting the days unfold around the kids. There was space - literal and emotional - to just sit with the past year, the good and the bad and the messy. To thank about what I want this year to hold without feeling like I need all the answers yet.
The best part was the (unrushed) time with our people. Watching the kids build their own memories with our friends that they are growing up side-by-side with, laughing over long dinners. I'm grateful for all of it.
